Besides being a "talker", I'm a mom, wife, knitter, crocheter, designer, spinner, weaver (oh heck, plain and simple...fiber freak). I'm always thinking about my next project. Inspiration for something new to make is all around me and finding that perfect, accessory, treasure or vintage button makes me want to get busy creating.
I created collectible teddy bears for twelve years and was fortunate enough to win several Bears and Buds awards, along with a Teddy Bear and Friends People's Choice Award. Once my kids were grown and the house got quiet, I had the opportunity to take on some new knitting and crochet challenges. This only helped fuel my love of fiber, so learning to spin and hand dye roving became my next challenge.
Knitting, spinning and crocheting were keeping my attention, but I started missing those cute "pick me up" faces my bears used to have, so instead of sewing bears, I knit or crocheted them (along with other cute animals). I found several great designers, and was happy working on their patterns, but there was something missing. My toys just didn't have that look or style I thought they should, so it was time to start designing my own. Designing patterns have given me new inspiration and provides endless possibilities.
What will I make next...I'm not sure, but I know I'll be making something.
